Sanddown is set to make another profit from the trainer title on the final day, among the many horse talents that Willie Mullins entered on Saturday, among the superstar Marle Ross talent.
Winning both Cheltenham and Eintree this year, Ross Emas will be taking part in the 80,000 pound BET365 SELECT hurdle, like the “other” Loss Loss the Loss Muss, a 10-year-old prison escape trained by Polly Gundry.
With this feature, the bet 365 Gold Cup – worth just over 100,000 pounds to the winner – the Mullins have confirmed 15 of 17 entries.
Several of his Aintree Grand National team remain in the mix, including Grangeclare West, who leads Weights and last year’s winner Minella Cocooner. Captain Cody, his Scottish national hero, is possible, but he may need a new jockey so that Paul Nichols can leave at Threeland Through-Fib and claim Harry Cobden.
The Dan Skeleton candidates sail and are oriented to St. Joe Smoke and The Forummi, but with Grangeclare West running, all three go a long way from weights.
Skelton is more strongly represented in the BET365 Celebration Chase, with six of them competing with Jonbon.
Nikki Henderson’s John Bon may be the most afraid of the Marines, where you can choose between Energy, Gaelic Warrior, Il Etite temperature, and Impair Etus.
Captains Guinness and Edward Stone are also one of 17 entries.
BET365 Oaksey Chase has 19 people, with Mullins in charge of Seven and Skelton Five.
El Fabiolo, Blue Road, thank you, Gaelic Warrior, Gentleman de Me, Il Etait Temps and classic vacations are Marine possibilities.
Pic D’Orhy and Hitman could represent the Nicholls.
Mullins assistant David Casey said the running plan will be confirmed all the way later in the week.
When asked if Ross Imath or Gaelic warriors would run in Santown, Casey said, “We don’t know at this stage. Scream at 9.55 on Thursday.
“They are all fine, they are all grand and ready for Panchetown anyway.
“Who knows (who wins), Dan (Skeleton) will have a lot of runners this week in races without runners, so we will see what position he is in and plan by Thursday.
“Obviously, we probably came out of Aintree last year, and it’s a bit difficult because we’re behind this year.
“If that happens, it’s great, and if it isn’t, be sure we’ve tried it.”
