After being caught on video trying to grab a cat, he is suspected of a cat slaughter this week in Southern California.
Footage shared by the Santa Ana Police Department on Wednesday shows 45-year-old Alejandroa Costa Oliveros scooping up a cat between two cars in Orange County.
Officers say Oliveros was actively identified by multiple victims and witnesses, and he was charged after officers found evidence of the crime at his Santa Ana home.
Detectives said nothing about the number of cats Oliveros was allegedly killed, but they believe that the number is high. The LA Times reports that more than 12 cats have been harmed.
Locals in Orange County have been posting about the missing cat for weeks, warning others about the cat’s nanny who has been caught up in camera seduction and snatched up pets from home.
According to KTLA, one of the disturbing posts on Nextdoor read, “My neighbor’s cat was killed by a man who injected some substance.” Another claimed that the camera grabbed a neighbor’s cat, tied its legs, and captured the man who let it go.
Surveillance video from March 21 shows the moment when a man thought to be Oliveros snatched a club bar, a 10-month-old Bengal Links cat. Luckily, Clubber later returned home.
Oliveros was booked at Santa Ana Prison on felony animal cruelty charges.
