The Somali federal government has successfully carried out air strikes against ISIS extremists, in collaboration with the US African Command (AFRICOM).
The airstrikes carried out by Africom today focused on ISIS members and leaders who were gathering in the southeastern part of Bosasso in Puntland.
The operation is intensifying efforts by the Pantland Darwish forces to eliminate terrorist groups, particularly ISIS in the region.
Preliminary assessments suggest that multiple ISIS fighter jets have been neutralised and no civilian casualties have been reported.
The Somalia federal government is supported by international partners like Africom and continues to be committed to the fight against ISIS and Al-Shabaab.
