Kuwait City – Somali Finance Minister Bihi Iman Ige is currently in Kuwait City and is taking part in the opening of the annual Arab Finance Agency Summit held by the Kuwait government this year.
A key event on the Arab World Financial Calendar, the Summit brings together governments, international organizations and institutions that work in the field of economic development and investment. The discussion usually focuses on promoting economic growth, sustainable development, and financial investment across the Arab world.
Minister Ige, who leads the Somali delegation, is expected to take part in some bilateral discussions with representatives from other countries and international organizations attending the summit. These meetings are expected to bring about productive outcomes aimed at ensuring significant investments for Somalia’s economic growth.
The participation of the Somali delegation comes as the country is actively seeking to expand partnerships in the global financial sector, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, trade and sustainable development. The meeting of Minister Ige’s high-level officials and international donors is expected to focus on exploring funding and technical assistance opportunities to further advance Somalia’s ongoing development projects.
The Arab Financial Institutions Summit serves as an important platform for dialogue among financial and development leaders with the aim of addressing regional economic challenges and opportunities for future cooperation. This year’s event, held in Kuwait, marks another important chapter on strengthening Somalia’s international financial ties.
