Major Gen. Assad Osman Abdullahi, commander of the Somali Police, recently conducted extensive night inspections across key security checkpoints, police stations and major public and business areas in Mogadishu.
The main purpose of the test was to assess the operational effectiveness of police and to assess the security environment within the capital.
During the visit, Major General Assad interacted with local residents, including security checkpoint business owners and individuals, discussing safety concerns, and gathering direct insights into the challenges they face, particularly late at night.
The commander reiterated the importance of cooperation between police and the community in promoting a safe environment.
The inspection is part of the Somali police’s broader strategy to strengthen security measures and improve staff operational capabilities.
Major General Assad’s actions reflect the police’s continued commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring the safety of Mogadishu residents.
