Mogadishu – Abdikariin Ahmed Hassan, chairman of the National Election Commission, announced today that the deadline for party registration has been extended until the 21st.
The original deadline was set for March 31st. This extension is expected to provide political parties with more time to complete the registration process.

The chairman also highlighted the importance of political parties’ participation in local assembly elections as part of Somalia’s democratic development, and also discussed the country’s political situation.
He urged all political parties and their members to fully adhere to the national election rules and regulations in order to ensure free and fair elections.
