President Kenny Mororon’s Deputy Minister on behalf of the President’s Office and Government Communications Information Systems (GCIS), expressed his sadness to the family, friends and colleagues of late journalist Acely Ndrov and his partner Zodwa Madruli.
According to information provided by the South African Police (SAPS), police have discovered two lifeless bodies believed to be that of Ndlovu and Mdhluli.
The couple has been missing since February 18th, 2025.
Their findings are the result of a long and thorough investigation by an interdisciplinary law enforcement team. This effort has led to four suspects currently in police custody arrested.
Mororon praises SAPS and all institutions involved for their commitment.
“On behalf of the presidency and government communication and information systems, we condemn this meaningless, wild act of violence.
“Mr. Ndlovu has contributed meaningfully to our democracy by serving the public, informing and educating the citizens through his work in the media sector.
“The losses for both Ndlovu and Mdhluli are tragedy that underscore the need to continue to strengthen efforts to combat violent crime.
“As a presidency and communication community, we express our deepest sadness to the victims’ families, friends and colleagues,” Mororon said.
The government has reaffirmed its commitment to the safety of all citizens of media practitioners and protecting media practitioners, which play a key role in maintaining transparency, accountability and democratic values.
Mororon met with the Ndlovu family on Sunday to provide his support and solidarity. He makes a similar visit to Capital Live FM in Mamelodi, a soon-to-established station, sharing words of comfort with staff and honouring his legacy.
