Sewage runoff has been criticized for worsening the sinkhole crisis in Kutson
The Khutsong community has sought legal representation to bring the government to court for the slow repair of the sinkhole in the area, EWN reports. Environmental activist Jeremiah Ramokgoated had planned to legally challenge the municipality after repeated requests for help were ignored. This followed the development of another sinkhole remaining in the Peace Section, which threatened to close the Kut Song West Clinic. In a letter to the Presidential Office, Ramokgoated denounced the maintenance and inadequate maintenance of sewage runoff for worsening the unstable dolomite terrain, demanding that the National Disaster Centre be treated by the National Disaster Centre. He said his lack of response to his letters made him suspect that the President’s office may have not given the letter to the President.
