Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamora, along with French European Minister and French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barlott, has arrived co-chair of the Ninth Forum for political dialogue.
“This bilateral involvement will allow the two ministers to review their progress and discuss key issues of mutual interest, further strengthening the strategic partnership between South Africa and France,” the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation said on Friday.
South Africa enjoys robust trade relations and large investment flows with France, one of the largest trading partners within the European Union.
The two countries also strategically collaborate in key areas such as education and skills development science, technology, arts, culture, energy cooperation, health and defense.
According to the ministry, the forum will further provide an opportunity for ministers to press for global and regional geopolitical development and exchange perspectives that emphasize multilateralism and shared commitment to the rules-based international order.
“This dialogue reaffirms the lasting partnership between South Africa and France, rooted in mutual respect and a common vision for advancing peace, sustainable development and innovation.”
