The Dallas star said Friday that he will start the playoffs without top goal scorer Jason Robertson, who suffered a lower body injury in his final regular season game.
Robertson has dominated him weekly for at least the first few games in the opening round series with the Colorado Avalanche. Deboer did not provide any additional details regarding the injury.
Game 1 is a Saturday night in Dallas.
Robertson, who leads the star with 35 goals and has 45 assists, was injured in a 5-1 loss at Nashville on Wednesday. He gets caught up in a nasty collision along the board, and the Predators push Michael McCarron forward. Robertson was seen wearing some sort of brace on his right foot as he left the arena after that game.

“It was a hockey play. [McCarron] He’s a physical man. He’s going to get a part of you as you move the pack,” DeBoer said Friday.
When asked if there was hope for Robertson to face the avalanche, DeBoer replied, “If the series progresses for more than a week, then that’s right.”
Game 4 is scheduled for April 26th, and the series could run until May 3rd once seven games progress.
Robertson came out and Michael Granland went up to the top line with Loop Hintz and Evgeni de Dadonov in practice on Friday.
Robertson played all 82 games in his third regular season.
The star will be taking part in the playoffs, which lost the worst stretch of the season, the past seven games (0-5-2).
