The Golden State Warriors suffered a major loss in the first half of Game 1 for the Minnesota Timber Wolves in the first half of Game 1 of the Second Round Series. Stephen Curry was ruled out for the rest of the game with a tense left hamstring.
Curry got off to a fast start with 13 points in the first 13 minutes, and the Warriors were clicking. After hitting a 3 on one end, Curry looked to be injured on the defensive side.
He managed to stay in the game and hit another push shot on his next trip in Golden State, but then he asked from the game and stepped out a prominent foot straight into the locker room.
So far, the Warriors were able to stick to a double-digit lead without curry as they went halftime with a 44-31 advantage. The Timberwolves have a disastrous shooting game, missing all 15 of their 3-point attempts in the first half. But there’s still a total half to play.
With Curry’s status moving into a situation where he suspects him, the Warriors will need to seize this opportunity and take the early victory of this series to the bank if Curry plays in a few games.
A big factor here: There’s only one day of rest between each game throughout Game 5 in this series, so even a week-long absence can miss curry throughout Game 4.
The Warriors want better news than that, but this is the sixth game, 11 days after the 7-game series rock fight in the first round against the Houston Rockets. These things are summed up.
Someone who knows whether fatigue has been hit by this injury or whether it’s just random. Either way, Curry is out for the rest of Game 1, with the Warriors holding their breath moving forward with his status.
