Jesse Whitt appointed vice president of Viking Bank
Viking Bank recently appointed Jesse Wicht as its latest vice president and business and agricultural banker. Wicht specializes in serving clients from both Alexandria and Ashby branches and providing financial solutions to agricultural producers and commercial businesses.
Jesse holds a degree in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota State University and brings more than 10 years of experience as a business AG lender. His knowledge and commitment to helping clients navigate lending options, manage risks and achieve financial goals makes him an invaluable resource for farmers and business owners looking to grow and strengthen their operations.
“As my own farmer, I understand first hand the challenges and opportunities faced by producers,” Wicht said. “Strong banking relationships go beyond fundraising. We need lenders who truly understand the farming business and provide valuable insights tailored to each business.”
Outside of work, Wikt enjoys hunting, fishing, watching soccer and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Gate City Bank promotes Megan Edwards
Megan Edwards has been promoted to AVP, retail manager at Gate City Bank in Alexandria.
She joined the bank in January 2013 and previously served as a retailer, personal banking supervision, personal banker, bank secretary law (BSA), and fraud investigator, electronic banking expert and customer service representative.

Edwards was originally from Fargo, North Carolina. Outside of work, she has served as board member, social event chair and inclusiveness leader for Young Professional Network. In her free time, she gives back to the local nonprofit, rides a bike, and plays with her two cats, Harley and Annie.

Jan Cook has been promoted to AVP, a senior personal render at Gate City Bank in Alexandria.
She joined the bank in 2021, bringing over 25 years of experience.
Cook originally came from Alexandria. In her free time, she loves to visit the lake. It means enjoying the waves in the summer or on ice in the winter.
