The Philadelphia Eagles have new wide receivers for each NFL media, with one year agreements to agree to a deal with former Carolina Panthers and Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr.
Marshall, the second pick from LSU in 2021, spent the first three years of his Carolina career. He was toped in 2022 with 28 grabs for 28 yards and a single score for 767 yards and 28 yards and only touchdowns.
The Panthers released him after training camp in their final offseason, then signed with the San Francisco 49ers practice team. The Niners kept him in the training squad from August to October. At that point, he was released after not appearing in the San Francisco game. The Raiders signed him to his practice team a week later.
He was promoted to the active roster on two different occasions before being signed for the rest of the season. He appeared in seven games for the Raiders, playing 140 offensive snaps, but made three total catches for 41 yards on six targets.
Marshall now joins the Eagles roster with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith above the depth chart, with Jahan Dotson and the 2024 draft picking behind Johnny Wilson and Ainius Smith. Given his lack of impact so far, it’s possible that Marshall will fill the team’s depth and perhaps try to create a team at training camp.
It would be pretty surprising, especially given the Eagles’ rumby lean and the big opportunity focused on top passing game targets, if he carved out the role of real importance.
