‘MTV Movie & TV Awards’ 2025 No Show

MTV hasn’t revived its annual best pop culture celebration… We’ve learned that their famous “Movie & TV Awards” show has become the Knicks for the second year in a row.
Sources close to production said TMZ… The annual event has not returned this year and remains “paused.”
The future of the awards show sounds very airy… It is said that plans have not been solidified to either get it back or to dispose it completely.
MTV “paused” the awards show last year…but at the time the show wasn’t cancelled and was told it would return in 2025 in an updated format.
There have been some major changes since it was said that the show was back in May 2024… MTV’s parent company Paramount Global has merged with SkyDance Media, and last month Paramount Honcho Bruce Gilmer reportedly sent out a company’s notes on major events that are suspended.
Gilmer’s notes did not mention “MTV Movie & TV Awards,” but now he is on the sidelines at the CMT Music Awards and Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The show was a good run from 1992 to 2023…but it was a rough few years and it would be interesting to see what’s going on.
