Oilers forward Conor Brown will not play in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, Edmonton coach Chris Noblauch confirmed Monday.
Brown did not take part in the morning skate after leaving Sunday’s match 3 after a fierce hit from Stars defender Alex Petrovich. Brown eventually tried to move the puck along the board in the second period of 6-1 Edmonton’s victory, so Petrovic came down from across the attacking zone and caught Brown with a powerful check that sent him onto the ice.

Brown already deals with private injuries, making game time decisions for Game 1 of the series and missed morning skating ahead of Game 2. However, he played in the first three games of the series.
Knoblauch wasn’t saying the time Brown expected to miss.
Brown, 31, has eight points (5 goals, three assists) in 14 playoff games. He received a total of 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) and a plus nine rating while playing in all 82 games during the regular season.
Knoblauch said it’s undecided whether veteran defensive man Mattias Ekholm will play in Game 4 as he remains daily with a private injury. Ekholm, 35, has been fully involved in the practice, but has only recorded 1:52 ICE time since March 26th.
The star will lead 2-1 in the Top 7 Series and return to Dallas for Game 5 on Thursday night.
