“Freaky Tales” is a wild ride in Oakland, California in the 1980s, offering detailed views of the city’s music and sports scene. That is hip hop and basketball. Short plays the role of a bent cop, and Oakland rapper Simba takes on part of Short as a young man.
TMZ recently caught up with Short and says he’s excited about his comeback role… You know, we last saw him in the 1993 film, Menace II Society.
Short said, “When directors Anna Borden and Ryan Fleck brought the project to David Weintraub and me, it was something we had to be part of because it was a culturally definitive story about the insanity of what the Gulf culture really is. The film is a completely original story, but based on legends from the Gulf.”
