US Vice President JD Vance said in an interview with Fox News that the war in Ukraine “will not end soon.”
Vance said the problem facing the US administration today is a way that Russia and Ukraine can “find the center” to end the conflict that has been raging for over three years.

His comments come shortly after Washington signed a contract with Kiev to share the benefits of Ukrainian rare earth minerals in exchange for future US security assistance.
Vance commented in a wide range of interviews defending Trump’s approach to war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this week a temporary three-day ceasefire began on May 8th.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andri Sibikha responded, calling for an immediate 30-day ceasefire.
However, the battle between the two countries continues.
14 people were injured but not killed in a Russian drone attack on Ukraine’s southeastern city of Zaporisia on Thursday night.
Separately, Moscow accused Ukraine of using drones to target Russian-controlled southern Ukraine markets on Thursday. Seven people have been killed and more than 20 have been injured, Russian officials say.
Kiev denied the charges, adding that the attacks targeted only military personnel.
