Vatican releases images of Francis in Open Coffin
The Vatican released the first photo showing the open coffin Francis during the death ceremony that took place in the chapel of Casa Santa Malta in the Vatican last night.
Vatican News reported that “demonium of death was read out loud during the ritual. The law was verified by Cardinal Farrell and the ceremony lasted less than an hour.”
At some point today, I hope to hear more about when co will be filmed for public viewing at St. Peter’s Cathedral.

How will the next Pope be chosen?

The next Pope will be chosen by the Catholic Church’s most senior figure, Cardinals University. The name means “using the key,” and comes from the Latin crannie crannie, which refers to the closure process of electing the Pope.

There are over 250 cardinals from over 90 countries, but only about 135 cardinal exlers (excluding those over 80). Around 110 cardinal electors have been chosen by Francis over the past decade, primarily reflecting his vision of a more inclusive church.
Usually, when the cardinals gather in Rome 15-20 days after the death of the Pope, they gather under the spectacular painted ceiling of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel to begin deliberations. The word Extra Omnes – after everyone has been declared, the door is locked, referring to everyone except the cardinals and a few staff and doctors.

Zelensky, Ukraine, was hoping to attend the funeral
… And Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelenki is also expected to attend the funeral, a presidency source told AFP.

Macron of France attends Frances’ funeral
French President Emmanuel Macron also confirmed that he would be attending the funeral and spoke with a reporter from Saint Dennis de la Reunion, where he is traveling abroad.
“We will attend as necessary for the Pope’s funeral,” he said, AFP reported.

President Trump was hoping for Frances’ funeral
President Donald Trump said overnight that he plans to travel to the Vatican for Pope Francis’ expected funeral later this week.
In a post about the Truth Society, he said:

After Pope Francis died yesterday in 88, the Pope is currently vacant or call it in the Vatican, we are in the Sedequate era.

However, the initial decision will be made today about the process that first pays homage to Francis’s life as a service and ultimately leads to the election of his successor.
The 88-year-old left clear instructions on where he wanted to be buried in the St. Mary’s Major Basilica outside the Vatican, but an important timeline of what happens when determined by the Cardinals.
The Cardinals congregation is expected to make the first call today, including when his body is in the state, and when a funeral takes place.
The clock also elects a new Pope, which must begin for the Conclave and ultimately begins 15-20 days after the death of the former head of the Catholic Church. Expect to hear more about Papabili. Papabili is expected to take part in the run to take over Francis.
