Three men were charged with manslaughter after a police chase, after a woman was fatally hit on a golf course in a van.
Suzanne Cherry, 62, passed away in hospital on April 15th, four days after being hit by a van at Aston Wood Golf Club in Litchfield, Staffordshire.
The grey Nissan van involved in the incident was being pursued by police after reports of suspicious activity.
According to West Midlands police, John McDonald, 51, was charged with manslaughter and was attacked for knocking down a vehicle when the police officer overseen and not stopping.
22-year-old Johnny McDonald and 34-year-old Brett Delaney are also charged with manslaughter.
Cherry’s husband explained that he was watching in “helpless horror” as his wife was attacked by a van while enjoying one of her favorite hobbies.
“Suzanne had an incredible infectious enthusiasm that touched everyone who was lucky enough to know her,” he said. “She was selfish and always prepared to help those around her to achieve more than she thought.
“Suzanne leaves behind her legacy and endless void in the lives of her mother Maureen, her three adult children, two stepchildren, and countless others in her work, her sports activities, and social circles.
“Su is loved and will be painfully overlooked by all his family and friends. We ask that you respect your privacy during this difficult time.”
Three other men previously arrested in connection with the investigation are on bail on condition.
Independent police actions continue to investigate the pre-clash situation.
All three men charged were scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire Judicial Centre on Monday, police said.
