
Hurricane Ernest, originating from Bermuda and Canada’s Atlantic Ocean
As the cleanup from Ernesto begins in Puerto Rico, the hurricanes attack Bermuda, then attack the Canadian Atlantic Ocean with powerful winds and flooding rains.
Hurricane Ernesto regained strength as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands recovered from the stormy broadside on Thursday.
About 20% of Puerto Rican residents and businesses remained without power as of Thursday, according to the island’s energy provider Luma Energy. According to El Nuevo Dia, 258,000 customers were still short on drinking water by 6pm, causing parts of the island to destroy record heat while still being repaired.
According to the National Hurricane Centre’s 8pm update, the Category 1 hurricane was 450 miles south-southwest of Bermuda with winds of 90 mph.

Where is the headline for Ernesto?
Before approaching Bermuda on Saturday, Ernesto could become a Category 3 hurricane by Friday, according to the NHC.
“Ernesto is getting stronger as we get closer to Bermuda,” the NHC said, adding that the storm could become a major hurricane with at least 111 mph sustained winds on Friday.
Now, predictions show that the storm will run through the Atlantic Ocean.
Ernesto avoids the East Coast and causes liptide
The hurricane is not predicted to hit the East Coast, but the storm is set to cause rifts and high surfing from Florida to Nova Scotia.
“It’s best to stay away from the sea (at least) from Friday through Sunday.” The National Weather Service in Wilmington, North Carolina, said.
Risks at the RIP on Friday remain high in Miami, Jacksonville and Charleston.
