President Donald Trump was in the Air Force late Sunday night to speak to the press, covering several topics, including tariffs, his physical examinations, Russia, and the Master.
President Donald Trump said semiconductors and chips imported into the US would suffer certain tariffs, adding that the price for the items will be announced within the week.
While speaking with reporters in Air Force 1 on Sunday night, Trump said the target behind certain tariffs was the “complications” trade in the semiconductor sector.
“We wanted to synthesize it from a lot of other companies because we want to make chips, semiconductors, etc. in our country,” Trump said when he returned to Washington, DC from West Palm Beach.

The question about tariffs that immediately affect the semiconductor industry came after the president posted a true society that saw a national security tariff investigation into semiconductors and the “wide electronics supply chain.”
In January alone, the US experienced a negative trade balance of $322 million in the semiconductor sector, exporting $521 million and importing $843 million, according to the Economic Complexity Observatory.

“No one has “goes off the hook” due to unfair trade balances and the non-financial tariff barriers that other countries were using against us. Trump wrote on Sunday.

He also said he did not announce an overall tariff exemption for electronics from China on Friday, saying the products still face existing 20% tariffs.
In response, Beijing increased its own tariffs on US imports to 125%.

Trump also raised the idea of adding certain tariffs to drugs and medicines in the hopes of bringing production to the US.
“In the case of war, in any case, we will not rely on China or any other countries to supply drugs, but that’s not a good idea and will happen very quickly,” the president said in AF1.

His comments during his trip to Washington mimic other parts of his true social post earlier in the day.
“What’s exposed is that we need to manufacture our products in the United States and we are not held hostage by other countries, especially hostile trading countries like China. This does everything in its power to underestimate the American people.
