Two Scots were killed in a shooting at a bar in southern Spain, Spanish officials said.
The gunman fired several shots on Saturday evening before fleeing the scene at the Mona Hands bar in Fuengirola, Andalusia.
Javier Salas, the central government of Malaga, has been confirmed by BBC News, where both men were believed to be Scottish.
Spanish media reported that experts and officers from the violent crime division in the region were leading the investigation.
Regional newspaper Diario Sur reported that the attack occurred shortly after 11:00pm.
They say both men died at the scene and the gunman escaped in the vehicle.
Monahans is a popular bar on the beach and has tourists and foreigners.
Barr was screening the UEFA Champions League finals in the evening of the attack.
Police have not yet arrested, but have not ruled out that the murder is related to organized crime.
Police Scotland said it could not comment on the possible link to Scotland’s recent gangland feud, and it directed inquiries to Spanish authorities.
BBC journalist Guy Hedgecoe said there have been many similar shootings in the Costa del Sol area in recent weeks.
The Foreign Office said it was not approached for consul assistance, but its staff were prepared to support the British citizens if necessary.
