Lira, Uganda – It’s not too late for women in Lira to grasp digital marketing tools to enhance their businesses, experts advise.
“The young people here are embracing new technology platforms as their marketing tools, so they are hoping to sell their products. Don’t be afraid.
I will speak at the Abakyala Ku ntiko Women Initiative at Equity Bank. Professor Abal was the keynote speaker to master social media platforms as a marketing platform rather than using them as a gossip platform.
The Abakyala Ku Ntiiko initiative aims to support women in micro and retail, gaining access to financial knowledge, business skills and fundraising from banks.
Statistics show that over 38% of women working in the business struggle to access banking services, primarily for loans and insurance products, making it difficult to expand their business. Abakyala Ku Ntiiko is changing this by offering financial education, peer mentorship, affordable loans and insurance products designed for women.
“Don’t run just one business! If you want to conveniently repay your stock loan, try to run at least two small businesses to accommodate seasonal demand changes.” She also emphasized the importance of quality, saying, “The reason most companies are falling apart is basically due to poor quality services and poor quality products.”
Peter Smakul, Greater North, Regional Manager at Equity Bank, praised the mass appearance of women and advised them to accept banking products such as Equity Mama and newly introduced insurance products.
