Kampala, Uganda – O Studios Entertainment premiered the film and called 112 from Acacia Mall’s acclaimed director Usama Mukwaya. Call 112 reveals the threat that disinformation poses to stability.
It premiered at Cinemax Century in Kampala in a partnership between Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Uganda, South Sudan (KAS) and O Studios Entertainment.
The production features an outstanding ensemble cast including Mariam Ndagia, Peter Odeke (Queen of Katwe), Arthur Swanyana (Damarie), Timothy Rwanga (Sanyu) and radio personality Ethan Kabuma.
It features James (Breacuso), a college student and ticut car trapped in cash, set during the parliamentary campaign held in Kevanbe West. James is approached by Albert (Kenny Lukundo) to uncover the “dirty secrets” of the outspoken MP Teopista Ndyanabo (Mariam Ndagire), who is seeking re-election as representative of Kevanbewest, using his Tiktok account.
James is paid for each video targeting ndyanabo that he shares on his Tiktok account. In one of the videos, James targets the Ndyanabo family by questioning the father of the child. When he gets caught up in a scandal, he notices that he’s deep in his knees when it’s too late.
Speaking at the premiere, Anna Rayman, the representative of KasUganda and South Sudan countries, praised the team at O Studios Limited, led by film director Osama Mukwei, for creating an interesting and educational film.
“The film clearly shows how disinformation spreads in the Internet age. Now that influencers have become a source for young audiences, detractors will be used to use them, along with their partners at the Media Challenge Initiative (MCI) to invoke 112.
She said, “We are planning to release a comprehensive schedule on our digital platform. We are going to allow some people to watch the film. You will be able to see it both in cinemas and in McI-Media Hub in Kavalara.”
The 2025 Global Risk Report by the World Economic Forum identifies both disinformation and misinformation as major short-term threats to global stability. “Disinformation plays a central role in undermining trust, increasing division and threatening social cohesion and governance,” the report is partially read.

Speaking at the same event, film director Osama Mukwaiya noted that the spread of disinformation in this globalized world has risen to the point that it is impossible to see the amount of information received on smartphones. “Everyone is a potential victim of disinformation, so I am excited to have the opportunity to leverage my creativity and influence as a filmmaker to shed light on this phenomenon.
