WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Purdue University held a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday (April 11) for the new Mitch Daniels School of Business Facilities. The future building will provide three facilities for the school and will participate in the Cranart Building and Jerry S. Rolls Hall.

The private event featured a statement from President Purdue Munguchian. Mitch Daniels, President Purdue. Jim Bullard, Dr. Samuel R. Allen Dean of the Mitch Daniels School of Business; Gary Lehmann, Chairman of Purdue University Board of Directors. Ted Maple, Vice President of Education at Lilly Endowment Inc.

“As we educate future leaders and advance research into technology-driven free market economy, Daniels Business School’s new world-class facility will help us achieve excellence on a large scale,” Chen said.

With Daniel’s School’s rethinking plans approved in early 2023, the demand for Purdue business education is more than ever before. Named in honor of the university’s 12th president and recently ranked among the world’s best business schools, the school prepares tomorrow’s leaders and entrepreneurs, and is based on the characteristics of Purdue education, including STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and business analysis.

“A business career that is practiced with sincerity is a noble choice in life,” Daniels said. “They create new jobs and wealth for others, and become the resources that the public and nonprofit sectors take to pursue their goals. This modernized business school sends graduates armed with missions and tools to meet their missions in the most complex companies.”

Construction began in September at the new 164,000-square-foot Mitch Daniel’s School of Business Facilities, which will be opened to units across campus, creating a culture of collaboration and discovery. (Concept rendering provided by Gensler)

The building is expected to be occupant in autumn 2027. The 164,000-square-foot facility will be Purdue’s second-largest classroom building in West Lafayette, behind the Willmes Active Learning Center alone. In addition to flexible spaces for academic instruction and meetings, it also features modern education and labs for financial transactions, data visualization, behavioral research and experiential learning.

“This spectacular facility serves as a beacon for excellence at the Purdue Campus,” Bullard said. “The building not only explains our commitment to the future of business education at the university, but also serves as a focus for the seamless integration of business and technology, reflecting our mission to prepare for tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.

Daniel’s School represents a key focus for victory and heroes. Purdue’s campaign, a comprehensive $4 billion fundraiser launched by the university in February.
