Viola Davis reviewed Chadwick Boseman on the “Ma Rainey’s” set…I don’t think he’s sick

Viola Davis says he judged some of Chadwick Boseman’s choices on the set of “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”… He was so sick that he doesn’t realize he needs extra pampering.
The EGOT winner sat for an interview with The Times, which was released on Friday. And she discussed the 2020 flick based on Wilson’s inventive play in August, which is also the last part Boseman has ever filmed.
Davis, like many people around the world, didn’t know that Chadwick was sick… so when she saw Boseman’s girlfriend and makeup artist rubbing her back and playing meditative music, she was a bit critical.
“There was a bit of me that was a bit of judgement – why do you need it all? I barely know that they were doing it because he was dead.”
The flick was filmed in the summer of 2019… about a year since I filmed the rap – on August 28, 2020, Boseman passed away from colon cancer. He was only 43 years old.
After his death, his family revealed in 2016 that he had been diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer, and he fought it for years as he became Stage IV before he eventually died… So he was in the pain of his cancer battle while shooting “Ma Rainey’s”.
A few months after his death, Viola called him a beautiful man and an artist. This was “old and young, even a complete commitment to the art form of acting, but with a quality that is rare today. Regardless of his ego, he was with the same agent he was when he began his career.”
Viola sounds like she was getting a little bit intense on him in his mind… and she’s acknowledging it now.
