Other non-European countries, including Israel, are participating to be members of the EBU.
Russia has been banned since 2022 following the Ukraine invasion.

Two of the three members of Monday’s memory during dress rehearsals
The girl band remembers Mondays consist of Lauren Byrne, Holly Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele.
They perform a song titled What the Hell Just happened, full of harmonies and pop melody.
The band was formed at a school in Farnborough, Hampshire, and appeared on the TV talent show The Voice in 2019. Lauren and Holly Anne also appeared in West End shows such as Phantom of the Opera and Six: The Musical.
They hope that the final two contestants, Olly Alexander and Mae Muller, will turn the fortunes of the UK up until 2024 and 2023, finishing at the bottom edge of the table, respectively.
Why are Israeli Eurovision’s entries controversial?
More than 70 former Eurovision contestants, including British May Muller, have signed an open letter demanding that Israeli public broadcaster Kang ban the contest, claiming they are “conspired in Israeli massacre against the Palestinians in Gaza.”
Eurovision, which has always charged itself as non-political, resists calling for Israel to be excluded.
This year’s Israeli contestant Yuval Rafael told BBC News he “hopes” he would be booed during the performance.
Last year, the inclusion of Israel sparked controversy, and its contestant, Eden Golan, also faced boos during rehearsals, with thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters gathering outside the venue.
Golan was also forced to change the lyrics of her entry entitled Hurricane to remove references to the fatal attack by Hamas in Israel on October 7, 2023.

The last major musical event Raphael attended was the Nova Festival in Israel. Hamas gunmen were attacked in the attack on October 7th, killing more than 360 people.
In Israel, about 1,200 people were killed by Hamas-led gunmen that day, and 251 were taken hostage. More than 53,000 people were killed during Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, according to the territory’s Hamasran Ministry of Health.
How does Eurovision voting work?
In the final, all participating countries will receive a set of scores from music expert ju-seekers and European fans.
Fans will win up to 20 votes via phone, SMS or the official Eurovision app. They can vote for as many different acts as they like, but voting for your home country is prohibited.
Once the line closes, countries choose their favorite song “Top 10.” The most popular songs score 12 points, the second choice earns 10, and the rest earns 8 to 1.
Viewers from countries that are not participating in Eurovision will also gain a say. Their choices are grouped into a single block known as the “Remaining World Voting.”
