Sometimes the past encounters the present. Will Smith reclaimed it in 1990 – a fresh prince from the Bel Air pilot episode to be precise – a recreation of the famous dance scene with Tatiana Ali (Ashley Banks), and a surprise appearance from Dokiy.
Smith posted a fun clip on Instagram on Friday (March 14th). He is characterized by Ali jaming out and listening to “anxiety” on his thrash Walkman headphones. And the Swamp Princess joins in the fun to complete the “anxious” dance trend that took over Tiktok.
“I’ve waited 35 years for this dance to become trending,” Will Smith captioned the video. Fans loved the nostalgic explosion from the past.
“Looool! I love you! And love your love,” wrote actress Megan Good. DJ Jazzy Jeff Chimed: “Amazing!”
Monica McNutt, basketball analyst for ESPN/MSG Network, said that she fired Hulu and “I’m going to watch this episode!”
Will’s son Jaden was just looking for a head lift when things were flying out of the house. “Dad, please tell me what’s going on in your crib.
It seemed to take a moment to thank the fans last week when Smith’s brain reposted the original Fresh Prince scene on social media, and as “anxiety” began to take Tiktok by storm. “I’ve seen y’all and all the videos are better than the end!! I love that track @doecchii. @tatyana ali Remember this?” he wrote.
The Grammy-winning rapper linked her when Smith posted a quirky clip earlier this week about how he uttered words to the “anxiety” in the mirror, but as the chair turns, the Dokiy is actually sitting there.
Doechii released a solo version of “Anciety” on its streaming service on March 5th. Track sample Gotye’s 2012 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “The One I Know” featuring Kimbra.
It was originally part of her Coven Music Sessions, which was released on YouTube in 2019. SleepyHallow was to sample it in 2023 on his own “Anxiety” track.
It’s been a busy month as Will Smith announced on Friday that he will be released on March 28th. It was Smith’s first full-length LP in over 20 years. The project will feature Big Sean, Joyner Lucas, Tayana Taylor, Russ, Friday, and his longtime fellow DJ Jazzy Jeff.
