The 2025 Women’s NCAA Tournament was not always presenting the cleanest basketball, as only six games were determined under five points. However, the National Championship Game should feature an incredible display of competitiveness, strength, and skill and athletic ability sufficient to make up for it.
The South Carolina ruler, Dawn Staley’s budding dynasty, meets UConn’s most historic and glorious programme and Coach Geno Auriemma. Staley hopes to return the fourth title to Columbia, South Carolina, but Auriemma has already delivered 11 to Storrs.
UCONN has endured brutal injuries over the past few seasons, and has been contributing to the program since 2016 despite winning a Final Four in 15 of the last 16 seasons. South Carolina appeared as a team in place of the Husky, and last year the team secured its 10th perfect season in Division I history.
Although South Carolina has no traditional scorers, Edwards, who has scored outstanding bench production from Joyce Edwards and Milasia Fullywily, escaped from a minor slump with 13 points, 11 rebounds and six assists with his final four wins in Texas.
It’s a UConn Page Bookers show, but Sarah Strong and Aji Hood prove more than deserving to be her co-stars. Strong, a freshman whose talent is far beyond her years, tallied 22 points and eight rebounds, leading UConn to a top-wide seeded UCLA 85-51 defeat.
